夏への道のりを着々と進んでいる6月。
世界的環境問題に常に向き合っているGEOFFREY B.SMALLが、昨今の猛暑傾向を鑑みてEV11のシーズンで多用した”Superleggero” =”超軽量”と題した夏素材のひとつ、CIONI社のSuperlight Linenを使用した2アイテムをご紹介いたします。
GEOFFREY B. SMALL, who is constantly facing global environmental issues, introduces two items using CIONI’s Superlight Linen, one of the summer materials titled ‘Superleggero’ = ‘ultra-light’ that was widely used in the EV11 season, in view of the recent trend of extreme heat.
【EV11 Flap Single Pocket Shirt】

イタリア・CIONI社のSuperlight Linenを、10時間以上かけてアトリエ内で熟練の職人によって手染めされたブラックのリネンシャツです。
こちらの手触りは驚くほど軽くソフトで、それが着心地に直結する仕上がりです。
This is a black linen shirt made from Superlight Linen by the Italian company CIONI, hand-dyed over more than 10 hours by skilled artisans in the atelier.
The texture is astonishingly light and soft, resulting in a finish that directly translates to comfort when worn.
大ぶりのホーンボタン・片方のフラップポケットのデザインは、一見、ワークテイストのシャツジャケットに近い印象にも見えますが、前身頃の仕立てに関して、着た時に上部から自然なドレープができる立体的なパターンとなっており、カフスのプリーツ仕立てと相まって、とても上品なシルエットを描くシャツとなっています。
The design of the large horn buttons and the single flap pocket at first glance gives the impression of a workwear-style shirt jacket, but regarding the tailoring of the front body, it features a three-dimensional pattern that creates natural drapes from the upper part when worn.
Combined with the pleated cuffs, it results in a shirt with a very elegant silhouette.
対して、後ろ身頃はヨークもプリーツもが無く背面一枚仕立てとシンプルなつくり。
構造上身幅はやや広くとっており、生地の軽量さで、余りが自然なドレープとなって風を起こします。
In contrast, the back body is simple, made of a single piece with neither a yoke nor pleats.
Structurally, the body width is slightly generous, and with the lightness of the fabric, the excess naturally forms drapes and creates movement with the wind.
先程のご説明の通り、襟先から自然なドレープが生まれ、全体に上品さを加えこなれた印象に。
As explained earlier, a natural drape is created from the tip of the collar, adding elegance overall and giving a refined, effortless impression.

“Extreme”=”誇張した”裾幅に潔さを感じる新作のショーツ。
実はEV7のコレクション時のアップデート版です。
約3年前からこの大胆な裾幅のショーツは、世界的な気象の変化に対応して着想されていました。
“Extreme” = A new pair of shorts with a bold hem width that gives a sense of clarity.
In fact, it is an updated version from the EV7 collection.
For about three years, these shorts with a daring hem width were conceived in response to global climate changes.
ハンドカットされたレザーをあしらったドローコード。
GEOFFREY B.SMALLは、裁断・縫製・染色・仕上げがすべて、アトリエ内”Superworkroom”にて行われます。
デザイナーの目の行き届く空間で、各ジャンルのスペシャリストの技術のリレーによって、1点1点つくられています。

At GEOFFREY B.SMALL, cutting, sewing, dyeing, and finishing are all carried out in the in-house atelier called ‘Superworkroom.’
In a space meticulously overseen by the designer, each piece is created one by one through the relay of skills from specialists in various fields.
前面のスラッシュポケットに加えて、立体的なバックポケットが2つ。
In addition to the front slash pocket, there are two three-dimensional back pockets.
セットアップでのスタイリングです。
長袖シャツは、袖まくりして前を開けてインナーの上に羽織って、シャツジャケットの様に。
同素材での合わせという服好きの方にはたまらない多幸感あるコーディネートですね。
