お盆を境に夜風が涼しくなってきたと感じたのも束の間、また暑さが戻ってきた今日この頃。
しばらくは残暑とお付き合いといったところですね。
GEOFFREY B. SMALLのHandkerchief Linen Blousonを、メインにご紹介を続けてきましたシリーズの最終話。
第3弾になります。
ラストの今回はリネンづくしのスタイリングです。
着るものに何を選ぶか、選択肢は数多あるかと思いますが、そのなかで”素材”に目を向けた時、欠かせない存在のひとつ、リネン。
元々通気性に優れているので、高温多湿な日本において、とても適した素材といえますし、洗いを繰り返すことで柔らかな風合いがでてくるので、
シワ感を楽しんだり、生地を育てる感覚で愛着が持てるアイテムとなりやすいと考えます。
天然素材の雄、GEOFFREY B. SMALLのなかでもリネンは常に重用されてきました。

植物性(Linen)と動物性(Raw silk)の染めは、染まり方が均等でないため、熟練の技量が求められます。
1940年代大戦期のワークパンツを参考にしたモデルと絶妙にマッチし、時代を馳せたマニアックなショーツ。
The shorts are made from Linen & Raw silk fabric, hand-dyed in dark navy.
Because plant-based (Linen) and animal-based (Raw silk) materials don’t dye evenly, it requires skilled craftsmanship.
The model is inspired by 1940s wartime work pants and matches perfectly, making for a niche, retro-style pair of shorts.
